As an amateur photographer, I have always been drawn to the beauty of Edinburgh and its many stunning landmarks. This year, I decided to put my skills to the test by creating a special Christmas card for my church. The card would feature the Edinburgh skyline and Holyrood Park, two iconic images that are synonymous with the city. My goal was to create a unique and memorable piece of art that would bring a touch of Christmas magic to the homes of my church community.
To achieve my vision, I used Photoshop to combine multiple images of the Edinburgh skyline, Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Park and sky, taken at different times of the year. And some flower images from the photo stocking website. This allowed me to showcase the beauty of these iconic landmarks in a way that was both dreamy and surreal. The result was a stunning image that showcased the intricate details of the Edinburgh skyline, the rolling hills of Holyrood Park, and the picturesque autumnal colours that surrounded it.
The concept for my Christmas card was inspired by the idea of creating a dreamlike, surreal piece of art. I wanted to bring out the beauty of Edinburgh and Holyrood Park in a way that was both unique and captivating. To achieve this, I carefully composed each image, paying close attention to the colours, textures, and patterns that surrounded the landmarks. I wanted to create a piece of art that would transport the viewer to a magical world of festive cheer, where the Edinburgh skyline and Holyrood Park were the stars of the show.
Creating this Christmas card was a labour of love, and I am incredibly proud of the final product. My hope is that it will bring a touch of Christmas magic to the homes of my church community, and that it will serve as a memorable keepsake for years to come. Through this project, I was able to showcase my passion for photography and my love for the city of Edinburgh, and I am grateful for the opportunity to do so.
